If there’s any attorneys out there willing to work on contingency (since obviously I’m not getting paid) I would really love to sue CloudFlare the fuck out of business. And maybe we should sue icann (the folks in charge of handing out the urls) while we’re at it. Their head honcho thinks it’s none of his concern that registrants and hosting providers aren’t enforcing their anti-piracy policies, he only cares that they have one to pull out of their asses when asked.
In fact, let’s make good use of our time. Let’s go after all the intermediaries in the piracy pipeline that don’t suspend all service to customers violating their TOS after being alerted—because requiring a site to take down a single case of infringement while ignoring thousands of other violations on their site doesn’t do squat (And when they checked out the complaint it would have been apparent the entire site was devoted to piracy.)
What’s the point of requiring TOS, if we don’t expect them to be enforced?
Until the someone sets legal precedent making all parties involved responsible for the enforcement of their TOS policies, they aren’t worth the paper I wipe my ass with.
Why the hard-on for CloudFlare in particular? Because every time my book is pirated, their name comes up. Even after being reprimanded by the courts for aiding and abetting piracy sites they continue to facilitate the fucks. What follows below was true at the time I wrote it.
